    Refrigeration Intelligence:
    Know Which Cooler Needs Attention.

Refrigeration Intelligence watches your coolers and freezers around the clock. Stratosfy sensors send readings through a gateway to OperaSense, which alerts the right person when a unit drifts out of range, so staff can act before inventory is at risk.

It is built for frontline teams, store and kitchen managers, and multi-location operators in restaurants, pharmacies, senior living and other food service operations.

    The Problem

What Goes Wrong When Nobody Is Watching?

A failing cooler doesn't only affect equipment. It puts inventory at risk, creates after-hours calls and leaves gaps in temperature records.

    • A walk-in cooler starts drifting after closing, and nobody sees it until the morning shift.
    • Paper or spreadsheet temperature logs depend on someone remembering to check every unit.
    • Basic alarms can't tell a normal defrost cycle or a door left open briefly from a real problem, so staff learn to ignore them.
    • With several locations, managers can't easily see which units are stable and which keep causing trouble.

    Beyond Alarms

Why Isn't a Temperature Alarm Enough?

A basic alarm tells you a threshold was crossed. Someone still has to notice it, work out whether it matters, find the right person and write down what happened.

Refrigeration Intelligence handles those steps: it alerts the responsible person, escalates if nobody responds and keeps the record.

Compare refrigeration monitoring on its own with automated escalation workflows on the OperaSense platform.

    How It Works

    How Does Refrigeration Intelligence Work?

Every reading follows the same five steps, from the sensor in the unit to the person who responds. See how OperaSense works end to end.

    1. 1

      Sensor

A Stratosfy sensor in each cooler or freezer records temperature, humidity and door activity.

    2. 2

      Gateway

An on-site Stratosfy gateway sends the readings from the sensors to OperaSense.

    3. 3

      Platform

OperaSense compares each unit's readings with its expected range and operating schedule.

    4. 4

      Alert

When a unit needs attention, OperaSense alerts the responsible person and escalates if needed.

    5. 5

      Response

Staff check the unit, take action and acknowledge the alert, so the response is recorded.

    When Attention Is Needed

What Do Staff Do When an Alert Arrives?

Alerts are meant to lead to a clear action, not guesswork. A typical response looks like this. Learn more about operational risk alerts.

    1. 1Open the alert to see which unit, at which location, is outside its expected range.
    2. 2Check the unit: is the door closed, is it in a defrost cycle, is product at risk?
    3. 3Take action, such as closing the door, moving product or calling for service.
    4. 4Acknowledge the alert so managers know someone is handling it.
    5. 5If nobody responds, OperaSense escalates the alert to the next responsible person.

What Is Included in Refrigeration Intelligence?

Six OperaSense features work together. Each one monitors, detects and alerts.

    Refrigeration Monitoring

Monitors every connected walk-in, reach-in, freezer and prep cooler. Detects drift from each unit's expected range. Alerts staff with the unit and location named.

    Operational Risk Alerts

Monitors readings against your operating schedules. Detects abnormal behavior, such as slow recovery after a door opening. Alerts only when attention is needed, not for equipment scheduled to be off.

    Automated Escalation

Monitors whether an alert has been handled. Detects when it hasn't. Alerts the next responsible person so issues don't wait until morning.

    Trusted Operational Records

Monitors and stores readings continuously. Detects gaps and exceptions in the record. Alerts managers to what needs review, reducing reliance on manual logs.

    Predictive Operational Intelligence

Monitors how each unit behaves over time. Detects patterns that can come before equipment problems, such as signs of compressor stress. Alerts teams so maintenance can be planned.

    Operational Cause Intelligence

Monitors repeated issues across units and locations. Detects what they have in common. Alerts managers to likely causes so the same problem isn't fixed again and again.

    Refrigeration Intelligence Questions

    What is Refrigeration Intelligence?

It is the OperaSense solution for watching commercial coolers and freezers. Stratosfy sensors and gateways send readings to OperaSense, which alerts the right person when a unit needs attention and keeps a record of readings and responses.

Which refrigeration equipment can it monitor?

Walk-in coolers, reach-ins, freezers and prep coolers. Each connected unit is monitored individually, so you know exactly which one is drifting.

    What does the sensor measure?

Stratosfy sensors record temperature, humidity and door activity. The readings travel through a Stratosfy gateway to OperaSense.

What happens when a cooler or freezer goes out of range?

OperaSense alerts the responsible person with the unit and location. Staff check the unit, take action and acknowledge the alert. If nobody responds, the alert is escalated to the next responsible person.

Will we get alerts for defrost cycles or equipment that is supposed to be off?

OperaSense takes your operating schedules into account and is designed to tell normal defrost cycles and brief door openings apart from real problems, to reduce unnecessary alerts.

Does it replace manual temperature logs?

OperaSense keeps continuous temperature records, which reduces the need for staff to write readings by hand. Your own food safety or regulatory requirements still decide what records you must keep.

    Who installs the sensors?

Sensors can be set up with the OperaSense mobile app, which also shows sensor diagnostics and health checks.

    How do we get started?

Operations with 1 to 10 refrigeration units can sign up directly. For 11 or more units, book a demo and our team will plan the rollout with you.
